The Brief
In this project, the client's requirements were a full fledged branding solution with product design - from brand colours, to logo, brand fonts, and guidelines to the design of the product packaging. The team was subsequently tasked with the content creation, PR seeding, and strategic media buys for the brand as well.
Brand Identity
The team identified colours based on the brand’s mission and designed a logo inspired by the name of the brand - The Masuku ("the mask" in Japanese).
The brand’s logo features a friendly masked face, with the words “masuku” in Katakana cleverly forming the mask.
Packaging
Upholding a clean and minimal look for the packaging, the team designed a packet with a zipper that could store the user guide, mask and filters when they were not in use.
To add character and maximize space of the zipper bag packaging, our designers made the decision to include a beautiful side panel detailed with a pattern created using elements from the logo.
User Experience
Sleek & Chic, our polymailers were also designed with the Japanese values of Quality, Comfort and Elegance - values that #themasuku uphold - in mind.
Designed to protect and ensure the safe delivery of sleek and minimalistic masks, a simple yet fun pattern element was added to polymailers - adding a touch of class, enhancing the customer experience and elevating the product to the next level.
Social Media
The Masuku's Instagram includes a variety of posts, including product shoots, informational posts showcasing the unique properties and design of the mask, and user reviews.

The posts are designed based off the brand colours which allow for consistency within the feed.
Website
Design
The Masuku's website features the unique properties of their face mask, highlighting features that set them apart from other competitors using simple illustrations and photos. Designed with an informative and user friendly interface, customers were also able make their purchases from the website directly.
Results
THE MASUKU’s social media account went viral and gained an international audience of over 3K followers, within the 3 months launch period. THE MASUKU also gained much brand awareness through several influencer engagements. It even attracted the attention of The Voice UK 2021 to seek the brand for partnerships.
Through THE MASUKU’s digital marketing strategy and campaigns, the brand was able to garner a large amount of sales on its online store.
